Goats take on the South Garden

Goats, obviously, are expert eaters. Chomp chomp chomp, they can work through a weedy area in no time. Here they are cleaning up a section of the south garden. This area was summer vegetables, then a quick cover crop of black eyed peas and weeds. Now the goats, penned in by portable electric fence, and eating it down. They will get the plants de-leafed down to about 6 inches above the soil in just a few days. They still have access to the larger pasture, so can come and go as they please, but this area is a real treat for them. They love broadleaf weeds!
